Fashion during trying times

This year alone Australia has battled horrific drought, floods, ravishing bushfires and now, the Covid-19 pandemic.

As Aussies, we’ve taken it in our stride to power through and continue on with our lives. In doing that, many of us may be guilty of forgetting about the reality the recent bushfires left fellow Aussies facing.

Cowra boutique store, Bo & Ree want to change that, by letting those suffering know that we still have their backs. In doing so, this week the Bo & Ree team will be donating boxes of brand-new clothing, to those areas that have been affected by the bushfires.

Bo and Ree Boutique Owner, Libby Brien said, “Bo & Ree have been thinking a lot about our many fellow Australians and we were wondering what we can do to help.

The bushfires had deeply saddened myself and my family and we continue to think about these people throughout this already unusual and uncharted time. Like everyone, we have had many friends and family who were and still are affected.”

“There have been so many fundraisers for different causes, which have struggled to hit the grass roots of the disasters, which had me thinking of what I could do, in donating the clothing, it might be a help to those who have lost everything.”

Libby and her team took to Facebook where they asked their followers to send suggestions of towns and organisations that they would like to see the goodies go to.

So far the team are looking at donating to Conjola Recovery Centre, Treading Lightly Ulladulla and the Dundurrabin Community.

“We have at least one hundred clothing items ranging from winter clothing, casual wear and more formal wear – a treat for when this all passes, and we are allowed go out to socialise.

Hopefully this will give some women clothing that really makes them feel good about themselves and they know that other people really do care,” said Libby.

“Although it may seem all we have been hearing about is the Coronavirus, we haven’t forgotten the struggles that others are still facing.”
