Are these the best hot cross buns in Orange?

It wouldn’t be Easter time without an avalanche of hot cross buns in shops all over Orange, but which ones to buy?

That’s a very good question and to be honest, it probably comes down to personal preference or taste.

Speaking for myself however, I have a preference for a particular taste, and many of the more commercially produced varieties don’t do it if for me. A few years back however, I picked up a packet at Ashcroft’s IGA and couldn’t believe how nice they were. That year alone, my wife and I must have devoured about 10 dozen of them, so nice were they.

In the years since, every Easter, we make a B-line for Ashcrofts. They still use the same recipe and they still taste every bit as good as the day I first tried them. We still find them an absolute treat every Easter time.

Call this an ad, a plug, an endorsement or whatever else you feel I’m doing here but be assured my motives are purely to tell readers about what I believe are great tasting “locally baked” Hot Cross Buns. Yes, that’s another plus, they are baked here by local Orange bakers right here in Ashcroft’s own Summer Centre bakery.

Happy to recommend them!
