Yeah! We made it to State!

Futsal is becoming a popular sport in Australia and three young kids, Jervis Marat, Noah Tracey and Kian Koopelian, from Orange have made the 2019 U13 Boys NSW Country Futsal State Team.

We caught up with two of them, Noah and Kian, to chat about their achievement.

Noah said, “I am pretty excited! This is my first year playing futsal, I joined a team with Kian and Jarvis”.

Kian added, “Futsal is something like soccer, except it is indoor, instead of throwing it in you kick it in and some things are the same. I have played three seasons of it now and we won the local competition. We will play for State at the end of January. We are versing all of the states and last year we played the Solomon Islands as well. I think the competition will be very tough, last year we didn’t do too good, we only won one game”.

Both boys are very athletic and play a handful of sports with hopes of one day making it pro.

Kian said, “I play soccer, touch and I used to play basketball but then I had stopped basketball because I had too much on. Soccer is probably my favourite”.

Noah said, “I would like to have a career in probably soccer or futsal. I like the speed of futsal”.

Great effort to get this far boys, we wish you the best of luck Jervis, Noah and Kian!
