Cool new shades a schoolyard hit
As the temperature heats up, we all need to think about sun safety and one school in particular has taken that concept to a new level.
“Orange Public School will be introducing sunglasses as an option for students during the summer months. The school is very mindful in relation to sun safety and eye protection from the sun is seen as an important step to ensuring student well-being.
“The school has linked with Sun Shades, whose company supply glasses made for children to ensure correct fit and quality of product,” said Principal at Orange Public School, Bradley Tom.
The introduction of sunglasses to the school uniform is a great concept which not only is great for sun safety but seems to be a big hit as well!
“The children have shown a very strong interest in the glasses being available with a high expectation that most children at the school will be opting to wear the shades.
“The school has worked closely with families encouraging children to always be sun smart and have clear expectations about wearing sunscreen and a hat during play periods, so the addition of the sunglasses compliments the aim of being careful when in the sun.
“The school has also made the decision that all children should have access to the glasses with cost pricing on each item. The response by parents has been very positive and the children love the fact they look super cool,” said Bradley Tom.
