Fergus O'Shea - People of O-Town

My family moved to Orange about 8 years ago and I love it here. It’s relaxed, friendly and a lot less busy than Sydney, it’s great. I’ve made some great friends since moving to Orange and I’ve also come to appreciate how much better life is when you do have great friends around you.

My job now is with Thomson’s Garden Centre which gives me a great opportunity to enjoy one of my interests, gardening. Working outside in a wonderful environment, especially at this time of year, well who wouldn’t love that.

I also enjoy playing cricket, I’m a handy bowler and do have 5 wicket haul to my credit. Other hobbies and interests include science, astronomy, cooking and music. I play piano and one of the highlights of my week is when I play with the music team at my local Church.

My Church and my faith are an important part of my life and one day I may end up as a missionary somewhere. To prepare for that possibility I’m taking a gap year next year and doing a one year course at the Sydney Mission Bible College at Croydon. This will give me an opportunity to learn about other cultures and get a feel for what I’d be facing as a missionary. I’m looking forward to that.
