Amanda Gleeson – Mortgage Broker
I first met Amanda Gleeson around 7 years ago when we were transferring our mortgage from a house in Sydney, to a house we were purchasing in Orange, and Amanda worked in lending for Westpac in Orange. She did a great job for us and we settled happily into O-Town.
Some water has flowed under the bridge since then for this mother of 4 young children who has been an Orange local for over 20 years, and in May this year she started her own business as a mortgage broker – Compari Finance Solutions on Sale Street.
A mortgage broker provides a personal service to clients who benefit from a loan that is tailored to their individual needs.
‘It’s like the TV advert along the lines of ‘you don’t want a loan, you want a house’, Amanda said.
‘I really enjoy this role as I meet lovely people and gain a real sense of purpose and fulfilment from helping them to get a deal that is tailored to their circumstances. I particularly love working with first time buyers and families. I can empathise with their circumstances and help them to budget. I understand the compromises they have to make in finding a dream home that is affordable.’
‘Being self-employed can seem lonely sometimes, but the Broker Network is very supportive and always there with good advice on ‘how to’. I have learned a lot about the different aspects of running my own business and am multi-skilled now as well as being qualified and accredited to provide financial advice. I have more flexibility now I run my own business and feel that I am a better person and a better mother.’
Amanda’s clients are normally referred to her by other local professional services businesses like financial planners, accountants and other professional advisers.
‘The big advantage of using a broker instead of a bank is that I keep in touch with my clients and regularly review their mortgage and recommend changes so that they have the best possible loan for their personal circumstances. The impact of making those changes really adds up over the years and helps people to achieve financial freedom. That’s why I’m joining with Daniel McGregor of Wealth Train to run a free seminar to help people to make a real difference to their financial futures.’
The seminar will be held at 5.30p.m. on Wednesday 25th September at the Ex-Services Club. To book your free seat go to www.compari.com.au.
