Meet the Boss - Amy van de Ven

I met Quest Franchisee Amy van de Ven at the Annual General Meeting of the Orange Business Chamber and was honoured to be able to sit down with her in Quest Orange’s reception area on Friday to learn more about her and her business philosophy. They have been very busy over recent days showing groups of people through the hotel.

Amy is from a little place near Wodonga in Victoria and went into the hotel business immediately after school at the age of 17 in Falls Creek. Only 10 years later she is the franchisee for the brand new Quest Orange Hotel, and unsurprisingly recently won the Rising Star award in the 2019 HM Awards for Hotel and Accommodation Excellence.

Amy has had a hands-on career from the start and loves hotels and creating a great experience for guests to make an impact and ensure they have a memorable stay in Orange.

As the business owner Amy is the boss and has a 30-year lease on Quest Orange. Amy has been in Orange since May and now that the hotel is open to guests, she lives on site. She is generously offering a free night’s accommodation in the Quest Orange as a prize to some local organisations.

‘I have such great staff’ Amy said. ‘They are all local people and are passionate about the Orange region.  They are proud to be Ambassadors and let guests know where they can go for the most enjoyable experiences during their stay in Orange.’

Quest Orange is a great addition to Orange’s hotel accommodation, and I am looking forward to Amy van de Ven being an excellent role model and addition to the local business community.
