Jayco Orange’s record awards haul at annual dealer dinner

Orange’s local Jayco dealership continues to punch above its weight, recently sweeping four major awards at the caravan manufacturers' annual dealer conference in Melbourne.

Covering more than 150 dealers and service agents across the entire Australian and New Zealand Jayco network, the awards are presented annually for excellence in sales and customer service.

At the conference dinner last month, Jayco Orange took out awards for Outstanding Customer Service, Financial High-Achiever of the Year, and the Jayco Century Club Award (given for selling more than 100 new caravans in a year).

And to top it all off, Jayco Orange Dealer Principal Greg Davis was named the “2021 Jayco Salesperson of the Year”.

Cabobolas Marine and Jayco Orange Manager, Lee Mackenzie was thrilled to prove that this country dealership could match it with sellers across Australia and New Zealand.

“We’ve taken on the big boys and proven little-old Orange can go up against Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane — All Australian and New Zealand dealers  — and take out all the top awards,” said Lee.

“It’s recognition that our customers appreciate the service that they receive from us,” he added.

“It is quite an achievement,” said Greg. “And it is unusual, I'm not aware in all the years I've been doing it, that anyone got the majority of the awards handed out.”

Greg, who has been with Jayco for the past 14 years, said this last conference was actually the first he’d missed in all that time, so he wasn’t there to accept his award in person.

“I wasn't aware that we were getting the awards; it is always a surprise when it is handed out during the dealer conference dinner,” he explained.

Caravan sales across the entire dealer network have been particularly strong over the past few years, said Greg, with the pandemic seeing more Australians exploring their own backyard rather than head overseas.

“We probably sold two years' worth in 12 months last year… but all Jayco dealers are doing well,” he said.

While their sales this past year were probably on par with others in the network, Greg said these awards recognise the consistently-good feedback Jayco Orange receives from its customers.

It’s why their customer base extends to every state and territory in Australia, he added

“People come to us from all over Australia. There are people that have dealt with us in the past and continue to deal with us, and will travel to have that relationship with us still, which is good,” he said.

“And we have many customers, locally particularly, who would not consider buying from anybody else; they are repeat customers over many, many years.

“We are consistent in our hand-overs to the customers, in as far as customer satisfaction is concerned and, last year we were above everybody else in regards to finance with sales made — so it has been a good year,” Greg concluded.
