Orange Art Society March feature artist Kaye Partridge

Orange Art Society’s March feature artist, Kaye Partridge has been a life-long art lover and a stalwart member of the Society for over 40 years.

Joined the Orange Art Society Inc back in the late 1970s, Kaye has painted with the likes of Tony Mason, Cobber Brown and Greg Turner.

“I have also had the opportunity to illustrate several books, including Keith Garvey’s poetry, ‘The Vanishing Australians’,” said Kaye, who likes to dabble in oils and watercolours to produce traditional works of art.

“I’ve always been an enthusiastic sketcher, using pen and wash whilst travelling in Australia and overseas. This has given me valuable resources for future works of art,” she said.

“I am an obsessive ‘Sketchbooker’ and have several going at any given time all with different themes, including “A Sketch a Day”, Gouache, Watercolour, Pen and Wash.”

Following her retirement from nursing, Kaye has enjoyed branching out and experimented with different painting mediums and styles, and have more time to attend workshops which she does at every opportunity.

“This has resulted in my transforming many of my sketches into contemporary and abstract landscapes,” Kaye explained.

“I enjoy painting with various groups of artists, such as The Wild Women of Arkaroola, The Wilderists, Colour City Creatives, The Orange Sketchers, and The Orange Fauves, as well as life drawing at the Orange Art Society.”

Kaye Partridge will be exhibiting her work at the Orange Art Society Gallery from March 6 - April 2. That gallery is located in the Cultural Centre, with access from the Woolworths Carpark opposite Harris Farm.

All are welcome to attend the exhibition opening at 2pm Sunday, March 6, 2022.
