Cosmedic Collective is your new one-stop beauty shop

Exciting new Orange venture, Cosmedic Collective, is just what it says – your one-stop medical cosmetic beauty shop.

Whatever your beauty enhancement needs, drop down to 102 Byng Street and see what they can do for you.

“We are a collective and I have a nurse, and we have three other businesses that run here at 102 Byng Street,” spokesperson Kylie Duncan said.

Only operating a few weeks, the recent lockdowns delayed, but did not derail, their official opening in September.

“Our opening date was due to be the 1st, but ended up being the end of September.”

Kylie’s extensive medical training and experience hold the new venture in good stead, she believes.

“I was at RPA (Royal Prince Alfred, Sydney) for 15 years, I also have a Masters in Health Care Management.”

A cosmetic injector for 10 years, Kylie also worked a decade as a theatre nurse for a plastic surgeon, before seeing a real need locally for her specialised services.

“I’ve been working for quite some time in this space – for 10 years – and when I moved to Orange in 2017, I saw there was a big demand, an opening, for this type of facility.”

People are far more comfortable now with this specialised form of beauty therapy than in the past, Kylie added.

“In 2021, the non-surgical space is being accepted as general self-care, there was a taboo around it for a while, but not anymore.”

While there are a number of other providers of this specialised service locally, Kylie says that being only one of two based in the Colour City, offers a number of benefits for clients.

“The time has come for Orange to have a one-stop shop for medical cosmetic non-surgical services.

“There are seven places doing it, but only two live here. That being the case, I quickly saw the demand for a local service that offers a certain element of trust, understanding, and local knowledge.”

Different members of the team all possess specialised training that creates a powerful knowledge and skills base for the cooperative, she explained.

“My knowledge is very anatomy-based, given that I am a theatre nurse, a trained RN (Registered Nurse), and my colleague, Sammi Parslow, is a dermal therapist so her background is much more skin knowledge.

“So, we’re able to provide a very holistic approach. We can treat skin from the inside out... we also have a medical-grade laser for vascular and pigmentation issues.”

This is particularly helpful for treating damage that the sun causes the fair skin of those from northern European and British descent. “Together, we offer the medical laser and cosmetic injectables service,” Kylie said.

Other members of the cooperative, she added, all provide specialist training and expertise ensuring that the collective can serve all your beauty needs.

“We also have Alisa Lockhart; Alisa offers a full beauty therapy service including facials, massage, and our very popular hydrofacials, one of the few in the central west.

“Breeana Brook is our cosmetic tattooist who specialises in services like eyebrow tattooing.

“Then we have Ann Parker who owns Urban Body and HIFU. She specialises in contouring, lifting, and fat dissolving on both face and body.”

This, she says, is that makes the collective truly your one and only cosmetic beauty collective in the Colour City.

“So, when you come to us, you can have 85 different services... we really do a one-stop cooperative for the central west.

“Previously, you had to go to three or four different establishments for the same level of service, but the Cosmetic Collective aims to help you look your best and feel like the best version of yourself.”

She added that the cooperative won’t hesitate to offer advice in the best interests of their client’s health and well-being.

“We take quite a moral and ethical stance on this. If we don’t think you need work, or if you have an unrealistic view of what can be achieved, we’ll let you know, and we have done so.

“In the end, we simply want the best for our clients, to help make them their best selves,” Kylie said.
