Remain vigilant, get tested, get results back by text
With restriction easing, school holidays underway and more people travelling again it is extremely important that we remain vigilant to the threat of COVID-19.
Western NSW Local Health District (WNSWLHD) is asking people to be mindful of COVID-19 symptoms and encourage family and friends to get tested if they have any.
“We’re also encouraging people in their late teens and twenties to get tested if they have symptoms,” said Health Protection Manager, Priscilla Stanley.
“In the last four weeks, there were around 9,033 tests performed across our District, with no positive cases identified.”
Getting your results is now easier than ever as you can register to receive negative test results by text message.
“Everyone who has a test is asked to isolate until they receive their results. The messaging service is easy to register for and means you get negative results quickly and go back to your usual activities,” said Ms Stanley.
“It’s a really helpful service, with many people getting their negative results back within 24 hours.”
Anyone with positive result will be contacted by a public healthcare worker who will provide information on what happens next.
Remember, if you have symptoms it’s important that you call ahead to book your COVID-19 test.
“If you’re in doubt, speak to your doctor or call our Western LHD’s Public Health helpline on 1300 066 055.”
