A place you can call home
Set in large landscaped grounds with views towards Mount Canobolas, Gosling Creek Aged Care is not your average nursing home. From its grand design, inspired by the traditional Australian county homestead, luxurious furniture, friendly staff and stunning outlook, at Gosling Creek you will find country living at its best.
“We have a very community-based living style out at Gosling Creek,” said Gosling Creek Aged Care general manager James Bird. “And we have moved away from a traditional nursing home in its look and feel. It is beautifully furnished and beautifully fitted out and the rural outlook is quite inviting to a lot of people.”
Located just 4 kilometres from the centre of Orange in the heart of the health precinct, Gosling Creek Aged Care has the best of urban and country living, with peace of mind knowing world-class health facilities are near at hand.
“We are right on the edge of town with a rural outlook, which has its benefits because a large percentage of our residents do come from a rural background and they are looking for that country living atmosphere.”
Some the facilities 77 rooms look out directly on those country views, while other take in the beautifully manicured gardens and bright internal courtyards.
“It has a very large and generous footprint at Gosling Creek. All the rooms are individual rooms with ensuite bathrooms. The rooms each have a different aspect depending on what people are looking for and the availability.”
Gosling Creek Aged Care offers both permanent and respite care, with a focus on independence. There are monthly activities and outings for residents and friends and family are actively encouraged to drop by and even join in for lunch or a meal.
“It has a very homely feel,” said James. “And we provide an extremely high level of compassionate care.”
Qualified nursing staff are on hand 24 hours a day, seven days a week and there are also a whole range of allied health services on offer.
“We have podiatry, dieticians, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, speech pathology and we work with other government agencies like Dementia Australia,” said James, who knows just how big a decision moving into an aged care facility can be.
"I understand moving into Aged Care can be daunting for all; there is so much to understand about Aged Care fee structures and care requirements. I am always happy to take the time to show someone through our home and explain and answer every question.
"The priority when anyone is looking at coming into aged care is to make sure we establish a good trusting relationship which allows the family to make their decision based on their needs."
Gosling Creek Aged Care is part of the Allity network of 44 homes located across Queensland, NSW, Victoria and South Australia, one of the most respected and established providers within the Australian aged care industry.
