Unfashionable health care
Without a doubt, the number one world topic at the moment is healthcare. All things coronavirus have been dominating world affairs now for several months and there is no sign of that settling down for some time yet.
While all this has been going on, some of my recent conversations with friends have ventured onto other health issues that people have or are facing. It seems that many in my age group, over 70 that is, have a health issue story or two to tell.
During those conversations I was amazed to hear about what I would term as unfashionable health care treatments, those that don't follow traditional medical advice from say a Doctor. We've probably all heard of them at some point in time, but because it hasn't affected us personally, we've just let them go through to keeper as they say.
Well I have to say, I have a personal friend who developed cancer and was given 3 to 6 months to live. He and his wife did a lot of research and decided on a combination of natural supplements that they'd heard about. That friend also refused chemotherapy and 6 months after starting the supplements was found to be cancer free and now three years later, still has no sign of the cancer. His Doctor could not believe it.
I have another family member where the young son of an in law had severe ADD syndrome. This family heard about how looking after your gut properly could make a serious difference to one's health. They changed the child's diet and in a very short time that child was behaving quite normally.
Hearing these stories from trusted and reliable family and friends has prompted me to look further into some of the supplements I've now heard about, after all who doesn't want to feel better, no matter what health condition you're in?
What has been of particular interest to me personally has been the amount of information that is out there about such things and the myriad of testimonials from people about results etc. Much of this information flies in the face of traditional medical methods and in many cases, there are detailed explanations as to the reasons why. Of course, you can't trust everything you read but like anything, it's a matter of sorting through the information and then determining what's credible and what's not. If you take the time and you have reasonable powers of reason, I'm sure you'll sort the wheat from the chaff.
I'm certainly not recommending any products, supplements etc. to anyone, but what I am saying is this, if you're concerned about your health or have a health issue, it could be well worth your time and effort to do some research about unfashionable health care alternatives like those I've eluded to, or just ask around your friends, some are sure to have tried or be using such products, methods etc.
Knowledge is power they say, in matters of your health, it therefore makes sense to broaden your knowledge, especially if it has the potential to improve your wellbeing or extend your life.
