Wine tasting goes online
With cellar doors restricted to takeaway and online sales, local wineries are taking the tasting experience online.
Printhie launched their ‘virtual tasting’ live video series a couple of weeks ago and See Saw Wines are also putting together a program of master classes, live tastings and even private tastings with vigneron Justin Jarrett.
“It will be a combination of live tastings, so we will tell people in advance grab a bottle of our 2018 chardonnay in the next week and there will be a live tasting you can follow on. But some will also be more personal; so say you buy a flight of our three Chardonnays you could then sit there and do a taste comparison led by Justin,” said See Saw Wines marketing manager Lisa Lovick.
As well as selling tasting packs, Lisa said they will be taking this time to put together some masterclass videos for anyone interested in learning more about the wines of the Orange region.
“We do mini informative videos on our Instagram anyway, but the masterclasses will be more in depth and a good opportunity for people to learn something new,” she said.
“We are not in it to charge people money all the time, it’s just about content and engagement and hopefully once the dust is settled, they'll actually come to the cellar door, because we are going to build one!”
For any wine lovers out there, most of our region’s cellar doors are offering free delivery, so it has never been easier to support our local producers.
