Benji blasts through the competition

Seven-year-old martial artist Benjamin Howe has dominated his division at the Australian Martial Arts Championship held in Sydney earlier this month.

Benji, who trains with Rolly Tandang’s Kamao Martial Arts at the East Orange Public School hall, travelled to Sydney for the competition on 8 March with teammates Sonny, Manny, and Tomi. The team brought home a number of well-deserved trophies and medals, but it was Benji in particular who dominated in the 7 years and Under age bracket.

Benji took out 1st place in Traditional Forms, 2nd in Sparring Points, 1st in Sparring Freestyle, 2nd in Sumo, and1st in Sword Combat.
