Relief at last!
It’s been on Council’s agenda for the past 20 years, but work has officially begun on building a public toilet block in Robertson Park. Mayor Reg Kidd turned the first sod for the new $195,000 amenities in front of a gaggle of media last Wednesday morning.
The toilets will be located on the Byng Street side of the park next to the CWA building and are designed to complement the heritage features of the surrounds.
The Sir Neville Howse memorial has been put in storage while the toilets are being built and will be relocated to the southern side of the park.
Weather permitting the facilities will be complete in time for Anzac Day.
