2020 program launch reveals biggest year to date for Conservatorium

The Orange Regional Conservatorium will launch its 2020 Program on Friday 7th February with a performance from the Acacia Quartet.

The program launch will reveal will certainly be the Con’s biggest year to date, with acclaimed musicians from across Australia specifically choosing Orange to perform in and take even take up residence.

The Acacia Quartet, the featured performers for the evening, are not only one of the country’s most highly regarded String Quartets but are now the Conservatorium’s own Ensemble in Residence.

Half of the Acacia Quartet, Lisa Stewart (violin) and Stefan Duwe (viola,) moved to Orange in early 2019, and quickly established themselves as teachers and valued community members which then led to a formal partnership between Acacia and the Conservatorium.

Similar to the Australian String Quartet being based at Adelaide University, Acacia’s residency allows them to use the Conservatorium’s faculties and resources to prepare and rehearse while providing unique educational experiences for students.

And the Acacia Quartet are not the only musicians choosing Orange and our Conservatorium this year. The 2020 program will feature some truly exciting concerts, including a world exclusive performance of a Beethoven Symphony.

The year will also bring famous singer-songwriters, orchestras, world music and more… all to be revealed during the evening!

The 2020 Program Launch featuring the Acacia Quartet will be held Friday 7th February. Complimentary Drinks and canapés from 6pm, performance begins at 6:30pm.
