Dust Days Aren’t Over
Last weekend I woke up to my Nan tapping my arm with a smile on her face, “Welcome to Condo,” she said as she opened the blinds, only to be faced with a mighty orange, dusty sky.
Now.. the smile on her face was not happiness I can assure you, it was more.. another day, another dust storm, a defeated kind of look.
The dust storm battle has been a long and exhausting one for residents out West, and I’m beginning to understand why. Everything was saturated orange, Nan’s car, our car, plants, I mean everything.
Strong gusts of wind ensured you covered your eyes or wore sunglasses whilst walking down the street to avoid dust particles getting into your eyes.
I captured these images during different stages of the day. A short five-minute sprinkle resulted in the dust storm moving on, though it was hardly enough to wet the ground. It left me with the hope, they are one day closer to rain.
