KHS Band Tour

Bowen Public School were the lucky hosts of Kiama High School Band last week.

Kiama high travelled to Parkes, Trundle, Dubbo and Orange to perform in schools in the Central West.

The band played popular songs and tracks that students knew quite well including the ‘Incredibles’ soundtrack which had the whole room full of excitement.

Bowen Public teacher, Miss Olsen said, “It was great for students to see other kids performing in a band and give them some ideas, as it may be something they would like to do when they are older. Its great exposure to different music for them.”

At the moment Bowen Public have a guitar group and perform class percussion for music, Miss Olsen continued, “Teachers have been toying up with the idea of having a school band, so I think this is a good way to see if there is any interest.”
