Ashcrofts continue to ‘make better’ - Stories from the Heart of Orange

It’s the Ashcroft’s Supa IGA community charity ‘Let’s Make Better’ that continues to ‘make better’ within Orange. The charity has just given another $8,500 to community organisations Riding for Disabled ($4,250) and Housing Plus ($4,250).

It’s with help from you - the community - when Community Chest Products are purchased, that this money is raised. Keep an eye out for IGA Branded and Community Co. branded products when you shop at Ashcroft’s in the future!

Riding for Disabled volunteer, Marj Strong added, “This money will go towards the treatment and upkeep of our horses and our facilities (vet bills, food bills etc). It will also aid in helping the children be able to ride, some children cannot ride without assistance, they use belts and or rolls and we have to provide that, as well as boots and helmets. RDA completely runs off donations so this is so wonderful, we are so grateful, IGA have supported RDA for years and without their help it would make everything a lot more difficult. It’s not only with their Community Chest, they come out and visit the children, they bring out little presents for them, and they provide so much to help us with our fundraising BBQs.”

Team Leader of the Orange Homelessness Service at Housing Plus, Toni Parker said, “We are so lucky to have the support of IGA and we are thankful to Rochelle and her team. They provide so much help to the community and particularly to our service. We host a joint lunch every Tuesday and IGA provide us with assistance to get groceries.

“The refuge itself is in need of refurbishing a couple of the rooms with furniture, we are also looking at helping people to sustain tenancies, we also have transitional properties that we hope to furnish as well. The support that IGA provides us with, things like furniture, grocery items, it’s just.. we wouldn’t be able to do what we do without IGA’s assistance.”

If that’s not enough IGA are also donating $2,120 to the Orange RSPCA Shelter so they can purchase a stainless-steel dog bath that is very much needed.

IGA Owner, Rochelle Ashcroft said, “We love the relationships we have with these services, and we just like to keep supporting them.”

Well done Orange and well done IGA’s ‘Lets Make Better’ Charity.
