Help the Royal Far West support country kids

Since 1924, the Royal Far West has been helping to get country kids the specialist medical care they desperately need. While access to health facilities has improved greatly in some areas, today there are still more than 300,000 children in regional and remote Australia whose health and development needs can’t be met locally.

“That’s the reason we’re still going,” said Beryl Conran, secretary of the Orange Branch of the Royal Far West.

“There are still so many children out there who cannot get the special assistance they need.”

Every year Beryl and a small group of local volunteers can be found all over Orange and the surrounding towns and villages, selling raffle tickets to raise money to support the work of Royal Far West.

“And every cent we make here in the country comes straight back to the country kids. It doesn't go towards administration or office work —the wages and everything else is from Corporate donation but every cent we make comes straight back to the kids out here.”

The local branch is about to begin selling tickets for their mid-year major raffle with a first prize of $500 in vouchers donated by local businesses.

You will soon see volunteers selling tickets at Orange Central Square, the Orange City Centre, Summer Centre, Bunnings, Aldi and at events across the region.

Make sure you stop and support this worthy charity and the hard-working local volunteers. For more information contact Beryl on 63638807 or 0428618807.
