The Race that Stops the Nation
OC Life were fortunate enough to attend a very special annual Melbourne Cup celebration at the Riding for Disabled Campus.
Set amongst the beautiful countryside that is Clifton Grove, the jockeys sat astride their patient and gentle steeds, eager to get started.
Horses and jockeys were paraded around the ring, the applause was constant, and the tension was rising. Finally, they lined up; the race was ran.
Trophies were awarded to the day's winners, with each student getting a ribbon. Five different races were held on the day between Anson Street and Glenroi Schools, both groups clearly enjoy the experience.
We captured Sylvia winning the righteous RDA Melbourne Cup for her winning ride on noble steed, Twinkle.
Letβs not forget the fantastic and humble volunteers that the RDA have! Your hard work and efforts brings so many smiles and enriches these childrenβs lives more than you know and it is a pleasure for OCL to be invited to be a part of it.
