Meet Orange Art Society’s featured artist Kelvin Hines
In a new initiative for the Orange Art Society, each month they will feature the work of a member artist — meet Kelvin Hines!
A talented local artist Kelvin has a passion for pencils drawings.
His love of art started at school when he attended De La Salle College with his inspirations coming from different artist’s including, Maurits Cornellis Escher.
His work has won numerous awards and his pieces have featured in various local exhibitions. Kelvin is currently being kept busy with commissioned requests for his unusual and unique style of art.
Now semi-retired from his own company, and raising three children, Kelvin now has more time to focus on his passion.
Make time to stop by The Cultural Centre in Woolies Carpark to see Kelvin’s work alongside the latest exhibition from the Orange Art Society — ‘Art from the Heart’.
Admission is free and the art rooms are open most days — If the door is open and the banner flying, they are open. All works available for sale at very reasonable prices.
The Orange Art Society also holds children’s classes each Saturday (10am-11:30am) for primary school ages children.
The cost is $10 or $15 when two children from one family attend.
In a happy, enjoyable atmosphere under the guidance of Lois Jones your child will learn to draw in proportion, to observe shadows and highlights, as well as composition of a painting, learn to mix colours and much more. Please feel free to phone Lois on 6361 8277 for details.
