5 Minutes with Rick Pasquali
How would you describe your business?
Specialty photographic store specialising in photo hardware; Cameras, and associated accessories, but also framing, canvas printing, printing, enlargements, and art paper printing.
What do you sell?
The biggest brands in the camera industry: Nikon, Canon, Pentax, Sony, Fuji, Panasonic, Olympus.
What services do you offer camera enthusiasts?
Advice on photographic equipment; including particular cameras, lenses, other hardware and memory cards, tripods, filters, accessories for anything for photography and videography.
We offer other services as well; we print photographs on different media: paper and other materials like metal, canvas, art paper, photo gifts and photo books. We also have self-serve kiosks – which we’ll help you out with too, because most people need help with a self-serve kiosk.
In addition we have a framing service and we can frame just about anything from medals to surfboards.
We also sell drones, mainly we stock DGI Drones and support your drone with parts like blades, batteries and other accessories.
What advice would you give to someone looking at buying a new Camera?
First, I’d ask a few questions about what they want to do with the camera, do they want a compact or a medium size, mirrorless camera, or DSLR? Do they want to use long lenses or change lenses? Are they going on holiday or do they want to use it for sport or family? Do they want to shoot video or stills or both?
And then we try and drill down to a specific need – obviously there are lots of cameras that are larger or smaller easier to carry, less weight or heavier, larger format etc.
Any other tips you want to share?
We’re a small business with dedicated staff and excellent customer service. We open Monday to Friday and Saturday and very happy to spend time with people talking about what they need photographically.
