Cadia’s bucket load of toys for the Salvos

Cadia Valley Operations made a special delivery of around 200 toys for the Salvation Army Christmas Appeal early this week.

The donation of toys has been made by the Cadia workforce wanting to support those doing it tough this Christmas.

Cadia’s General Manager, Peter Sharpe, was thrilled with the overwhelming response from the workforce to the Christmas toy appeal.

“We have a huge workforce that wanted to do something for the local community this Christmas. We are continually impressed by the fantastic work of the local Salvation Army and felt their Christmas Appeal was the right fit for our workforce.

“In just a couple of weeks, hundreds of toys were placed under the Christmas tree at Cadia, which will make Christmas a little brighter for many children across the Orange community.

“At Cadia we have a policy of supporting our workforce when they make group donations – be it time, funds or, in this case, toys – and I am really pleased to announce that Cadia will match today’s donation with gift vouchers totalling $4,000 to make the toy donations go a little further this year,” Peter said.
