Life is about relationships
Fusion Central West NSW held a Peer Leadership Skills Program for Year 9 students at Canobolas Rural Technology High School, with the event being sponsored by the Sally Foundation and proving to be quite the success.
There were 20 students who participated in the event which spanned over two days. The program aimed to help develop skills around; self-awareness in relationships, learning to listen, encouragement and feedback, helping people be included, values-based relationships, problem solving and skills development.
“Life is about relationships and this program assisted students in being able to develop healthy relationships and help other people grow.
“This program is how we build up and help people grow. Students leant how to care for those who are friends, peers and those younger students to assist in developing a community of care at school. It will give understanding and empower in relationships. Students can make a significant contribution to school being a safe and considered learning space for all,” said Team Leader Fusion Central West, Malcolm Rankin.
