It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas
The Orange City Centre are getting into the Christmas spirit with a range of activities happening in the Centre including a special Santa Parade on December 1 from 11.30am.
“This is the highlight of our Christmas calendar, with the Parade starting off with a procession of vehicles up Summer St including a Police escort, cars from Gnoos Blas Car Club and Santa arriving on a vintage fire truck. An on-foot procession of Santa and his friends will commence at Anson St on their arrival and will continue through the Centre until they finish at Santa’s grotto.
“We are drawing one lucky winner from our Kids Club VIP list to be in the Parade and spend the day with Santa. This also includes a complimentary Santa Photos package for the family,” said Nicole Chapman, Orange City Centre Manager.
There will be new decorations and an updated Santa set which will be on display from Monday November 26.
“We’re stepping it up a little from last year, with some more characters, bands and dancers. Santa and Mrs Claus, plus we’ll also have Ollie the Farmer, as our Kids City Mascot along with our elves, dancers, Rudolph, the Orange Brass Band and the Nutcracker Soldier with the Sugarplum Fairy.
“Due to the overwhelming response last year, we will also be hosting Sensitive Santa again for 2018. We provide an afterhours experience which is reserved for children on the autism spectrum and those with disabilities and their families. Session times are by appointment only and are available Monday December 3 and Tuesday December 3 from 5.30 – 6.30pm,” said Nicole Chapman.
