The best little show in the Central West…and we’re all invited!

Country shows are an important part of the fabric of a country community and the annual Carcoar Show is just that, showing off everything that the community and the surrounding villages have to show.

The Carcoar Show will be held on Saturday October 27 from 8am by the banks of the Belubula River and you can’t miss it if you are driving through town.

Known by visitors and locals as the “best little show in the Central West” this spectacular country show will offer you a fun filled day for the whole family.

This year shearing legend Mel Johnston will be the special guest to officially open the show. Mel has nearly 100 open shearing competition wins, a world title in the United States, has shorn for the Queen and was inducted into the Australian Shearers’ Hall of Fame in 2013.

The show will showcase the district’s finest livestock and local produce, with lots of events and entertainment to keep you busy. There will be five horse rings including one for heavy horses and another for stock horses. There will also be prime lambs, cattle, wool, whip cracking, yard dog trials and the Central Highlands Sport Shear. The Woodchopping event will once again be a popular feature and the pavilion will have fabulous displays and competitions in home products, flowers, art, craft and photography.

Other attractions include music from November Shorn, demonstrations by Blue Mountains Reptile Awareness, Troppo Bob from Troppo Magic, Old Kentucky Animal Farm, Inflatables, and many stall holders.

The gates open from 8am when the yard dog trials begin, with the Horse Events and Shearing competition commencing at 9 am.
