Celebrations Amongst our Aged Care Homes
Last week Gosling Creek Aged Care and Calare Aged care hosted a high tea for their residents in acknowledging the International Day of Older Persons (October 1). Families came along to celebrate with their loved ones and staff who were dressed as waiters to make the day extra special.
We caught up with residents at Calare Aged Care and boy were they enjoying their morning.
Activity Coordinator Joanne Beldham said, “The residents absolutely love it, they get to dress up in their best clothes, they make sure their lipstick is right, they really get into it which is great, it’s an enjoyable day for them to have fun with their families.”
Whilst there, many workers and volunteers were rewarded for their efforts with a presentation from Mayor Reg Kidd and Manager Cathy Winton, the certificates represented Appreciation - Years of Service and People’s Choice Award, which was given to Julie Muley.
Cathy added, “Julies story is pretty unique she is one of those staff members you would like to clone, she goes above and beyond outside of work, comes in on her day off, and many more wonderful things.”
Congratulations to all, we hope you enjoyed your High Teas!
