Auction of Marylebone property in Cudal Shows Continuing Confidence

Brian Cullinane of McCarron Cullinane is very pleased that the auction of ‘Marylebone’ at 415 Davys Plains Road Cudal on 27th September was hugely successful. ‘We had a room full of potential buyers showing a lot of interest in the auction and the successful purchaser Backas Pty. Ltd is a local concern’ Brian said.

‘This is a beautiful, renowned, old stud sheep property owned by Andrew and Janet Norton for 84 years.‘  It was once the home of well renowned Dorset, Poll Dorset, Suffolk and recently White Suffolk studs.

The property includes a creek, 25 hectares of self-watering lucerne flats’ and currently runs sheep, cattle and horses, with some 15,000 trees across the 400 acres.  It is sub-divided into 30 paddocks including 7 smaller paddocks and an additional 8 horse spelling paddocks.

The property includes a lovely recently renovated 2 bedroom homestead set in extensive garden with established trees; guest accommodation that sleeps up to 6 people and a 3 bedroom cottage on separate title.

‘The sale price of $3.65 million for this 400 acre property was above expectation and demonstrates that there is continuing confidence in agriculture in this part of the Central West around Orange, Millthorpe and Cudal, which is seen as a ‘safe’ area for rainfall’ Brian explained.
