I talked to Dale Thornberry about Canobolas Locksmiths, an Orange business that has been in Peisley Street for 17 years, with business partner Ian Stapleton having been in the locksmith business in Orange for over 30 years.

‘We’re always busy’ said Dale, ‘and we will be moving into our new purpose built premises at the corner of March and William Streets in the very near future.’

‘Call outs are often urgent with children locked in cars, or following break ins or accidents damaging property.  Business isn’t driven by insurance requirements, but most people know they need deadlocks on their front and back doors.’

Canobolas Locksmiths is at the forefront of innovations in home security, including smart locks enabling connection to phones.  ‘Digital locks are also becoming popular as the smart locks can cause problems if there is a power cut,’ said Dale, ‘and we can advise people on the most appropriate home security for their individual circumstances.’

Canobolas Locksmiths also provides replacement motor vehicle keys and works with local builders to provide complete home security solutions for new houses in partnership with the builders.  They also provide commercial locks and have provided locks for the new Quest Orange hotel.
