Superhero Week raises funds for Bear Cottage

Millthorpe Little Learning Centre (MLLC) took part in the Superhero Week for Bear Cottage, raising funds that will go towards supporting the Westmead Sydney Children’s Hospital.

Bear Cottage is the only hospice for terminally ill children in NSW, that’s dedicated to providing paediatric palliative 24-hour care and access to the best medical resources in the world.

This is right at heart for the MLLC educators, who are passionate about bringing further awareness to Bear Cottage and wanting to help in making a difference in the lives of the children with life-limiting conditions.

Previously, in last year’s efforts by the educators were able to raise $180 – which they’ve topped with 2021’s contribution of $460.

At Bear Cottage, there are superheroes seen in the eyes of the children in care every day, from the highly trained staff to selfless volunteers providing outstanding assistance, care, and comfort for their patients.

To the children’s families whose strength is in continuing to care for their kids and maintaining hope against all odds. The brave children themselves battling through their own struggles every day are heroes.

Now the littles one and educators of MLLC are joining this important cause, by quite literally becoming superheroes in their continued journey of support towards the children of Bear Cottage.
