Tim and his Mate filling Colour City’s techie gap

Top-quality tech help is not exactly in oversupply in the Colour City.

Top-shelf techie, Tim Duggan has come to the rescue, recently opening “My Tech Mate” in Peisley Street to the genuine relief of Orange’s long-suffering phone, tablet, PC and Mac users.

Lucky for us, Tim likes country living.

Originally from Campbelltown in western Sydney, he has more than a decade’s experience with a major retail chain, before deciding to spread his wings and start his own business venture helping keep locals logged-on and in-range in Orange and surrounds.

“I grew-up in Campbelltown and moved up here in 2015. I love the country life, this is where my wife and I want to raise our Kids,” he enthused.

“In simple terms, we supply and repair mobile phones, tablets, Pc’s and Mac’s. Anything in that field, then come to us.

“Our big difference is Customer service; This is a real need that I saw in the local community. I spent 15 years in the IT industry and saw a need locally for a different type of business,” he added.

Ever had that “We can’t do your job for seven days” experience with your devices and wondered how you’ll survive without being logged-in to your life, Tim has the answer.

turnaround; we’ll stay back just to ensure that we clear the backlog as best as possible.

“And all our repairs come with a 12-month warranty,” he said proudly. “We do not do the thanks for your money best of luck,” approach of many technology retailers do, he is only too-happy to help those, for whom technology is a mystery. “I like helping people,” he said.

With this customer orientated approach and the business slogan “Improving your relationship with technology”, he has even started one-on-one tutorials for those who may want to get started in new technologies, but don’t know how.

“One thing that has started to be popular is our one-on-one coaching sessions for customers, a man came in the other day, and he bought a new phone, and the training session was how to add a contact in and send a message.

“Teaching people how to open a Facebook video call and talk to their families is very rewarding for us, it’s a very cool thing to do,” he added.

Tim sits down with people and talks to them like people not like fools and offers a half-hour start-up session for less than $50. He says if you want to do a training session

learn, and we’ll go over it and tick-off all your boxes. “The last training session we did we even did a little video of the process for the customer so that he could go home and re-do the exercise until he learnt it by memory,” he said.

Open only a few weeks, business is doing so well that he has already taken-on Brendon, another highly experienced repair and Pc enthusiast with a customer service background.

“A lot of our business have come from referrals, people who have been customers, and are only too happy to promote our service,” Tim said. Also, if you’re running a small business and are having trouble getting tech support that you need to survive in these tough times, then give Tim a bell.

“We also offer a business tech consultancy service, which ranges from onsite IT support to solution building offering to improve your business he concluded.
