Orange and District 40+ Social Group

Lots of activities, lots of choices, lots of fun!

Orange and District 40’s+ Social Group has been a part of the Orange community for 15 years. The aim of the group is to get community members together and to enjoy the opportunity to get involved with different social activities.

The group’s activities can include anything from dinners and lunches to movies and trivia nights, and everything in between.

Suzanne Francis has been with the Orange and District 40+ Social Group for over five years and said it has been an instrumental part of getting to know the community.

“I came from Melbourne and I was by myself, so this group has assisted me greatly in developing my network of friends,” said Suzanne.

“I’ve enjoyed many day trips with the group including the Blue Mountains and a Ladies day out at the races. One of our day trips coming up is to Hill End.

“We meet every Tuesday night at the Returned Serviceman’s Club (Orange Ex Services Club), some come beforehand and have dinner, our meetings usually are about 10-15 minutes.

“We do our program a month in advance, and people tend to stay afterwards and have a coffee and a chat.”

Suzanne mentioned both males and females, single and or married folk- are welcome, everyone is welcome!

“It is a lot of fun, we all have a lot of fun,” said Suzanne, “Come along and give it a try for a couple of sessions and meet some of the members. It’s just $2 to join which covers the cost of printing our booklet of activities.”
