Do you remember
It has almost been three years since the horrific blaze that threatened properties and left Orange residents in a state of distress.
At 7.45pm on the night of February 10, the Rural Fire Service was alerted to a fire that had started halfway up the west slope of Mount Canobolas, just off the road.
Little did anyone know that blaze would grow and stay alight on Mount Canobolas for over four days.
The NSW Rural Fire Service posted an update on their Facebook page on February 15, stating the fire was under control with thanks to the efforts of more than 20 RFS ground crews, close to a dozen firefighting aircraft and assistance from State Forest crews and NSW Parks and Wildlife Services.
It had burnt 1671 hectares of bushland and thanks to the efforts of our Firefighters, no homes had been lost.
