Groundstone

Modern, Seasonal food

Fig and Prosciutto salad, using local produce including Norland figs, roasted hazelnuts from Fourjay Hazelnuts, feta from Second Mouse Cheese and salad greens from Nashdale Fruit Co.

Nestled in the heart of Orange within the cultural and museum precinct, you will find Groundstone cafe, with its contemporary feel, Scandinavian and modern design.

Since opening its doors in October 2016, Groundstone Café has provided a fresh menu forged by the seasons, with a local first policy where possible.

Creating delicious food daily and home to favourites including the best sellers, smashed avocado and the Vege health bowl (pictured) which also changes seasonally. The Groundstone Burger is also a head turner, using a local beef pattie, cheese, house pickles, lettuce, tomato, and spiced chutney topped with onion rings and shoestring fries on the side Yum!

Offering Orange Roasting Co coffee and Remy & Max teas, milkshakes, fresh juice, or if you’re after a pick me up you can indulge in local beer, wine and cider.

From regular morning coffee drinkers to studying students, reading groups and business meetings. The cafe is a great spot to visit and to pull up a chair, especially when the weather puts on a show.

“My family is from Cowra originally though I did my schooling and studying in Sydney. A lot of people used to say to me, it’s very evident you are from the country.

I came back to Orange in 2010, to help my Father and Husband work on the orchards. We opened Groundstone in 2016 and I just love how open the space is, the glass windows and the precinct. Just being in the centre of town is really nice. I prefer modern architecture, modern themes and I love greenery, hence our plant wall.

We have worked really hard on having a team we want to work with every day, and who wants to be here. We are a team, a ‘work' family.

Coming from Sydney you are very anonymous, whereas in Orange you get to see everyone all of the time, we aren’t just saying hello, goodbye, we know our customers and that’s a really nice relationship to have.”
