Bollywood Night in Orange

Colourful dancing and the best food from Indian tradition are set to be the highlight of the latest event to be organised by the Desi Aussies of Orange organisation (DAO).

DAO have organized ‘Bollywood Biryani Night 2019’ at Kenna Hall in Hill Street on Saturday May 25, from 6-10pm.

Vice president of Desi Aussies, Jagjeet Chawla, said the group is a non-profit organisation based in Orange, aimed at promoting the culture of people from the Indian sub-continent.

“What we want to do is bring together everyone by organizing cultural events that highlights the practices of inclusion and diversity irrespective of religion and beliefs of the people.”

“We were delighted by the success of last year’s event in Orange when hundreds of people enjoyed the dance, music, entertainment based on Bollywood themes along with fantastic meals,” Jagjeet Chawla said.

“This time mouth-watering delicious Biryani, a very popular dish of Indian subcontinent, is the key dish on the menu. I am confident it will be another great success.”

Tickets are $10 per person, children under five years are free. Tickets must be purchased before the event. DAO are encouraging participants to get into the spirit, and dress in the Bollywood style.
