Bloomfield Hospital Auxiliary Raffle

The Bloomfield Hospital Auxiliary volunteers are currently selling tickets around town for their annual giant raffle.

The raffle is to raise much needed funds for the Bloomfield Hospital Auxiliary, which helps support those on campus.

Volunteer and Publicity Officer, Tania O'Donahue explained, “Recently we had someone who was a fair distance form home on the Bloomfield campus, we helped provide money for their family to stay in accommodation whilst they were in Orange. Generally, the funds are there for what is needed. We also distribute Christmas and Easter presents to those on campus.”

Tania, who has been with the Auxiliary for two years said she joined as it was a voluntary organisation that she knew they could help make a difference with.

“I think everyone is touched by mental health issues, whether its them, or whether its family in their life. Basically, the Auxiliary is there for those people. Its so rewarding for us, when we see the smile on their faces when we can help them and just their gratitude, its very much worth it.”

First prize is $1,000, which was generously donated by Cadia Mines, the Auxiliary also have nine other wonderful prizes up for grabs.

Keep an eye out for them in shopping centres, they will be selling tickets until October 5 and the raffle will be drawn on Wednesday October 9.
