11 years on

This week, Orange City Life celebrated our 11th Birthday.

Our very first issue hit the streets of Orange on the first Thursday of September back in 2007.

We started as Orange Photos News and since then have undergone a couple of name changes due to prevailing circumstances along the way. From Orange Photo News, we became Central West Photo News after the Global Financial Crisis and then later again, to Orange City Life to better reflect what we do.

It’s been some ride and during those 11 years, we’ve seen quite a lot of changes in the media industry, and especially in the newspaper game. Despite the ups and downs, and everything else, we’re still here and thousands of people still pick up their copy of OC Life each week.

We haven’t made a fuss on our birthday this year, but we are doing something to mark the occasion.

If you have a mind to, today (Friday 7th), head into Village Bakehouse in Peisley Street and have a piece of our super big Birthday cake. Village have kindly baked us a BIG mud cake and there’s 200 pieces for people to enjoy on us. Not sure how many might take advantage of the offer so best to get in sooner rather than later for your free piece.

We think Orange City Life is a bit special, we hope you do too. The team here really puts a lot of love and heart into each issue and I think you’ll agree, it shows!

I invite everyone to celebrate with us, even if it’s just to stop for a moment or two and reflect on how OC Life may have impacted on your life in some small (or even big) way.

Thanks everyone for reading us!
