Wanderers Soccer Clinic

On Wednesday morning, coaches and development staff from the Western Sydney Wanderers Football Club ran a series of clinics at St Marys Catholic Primary School.

St Marys became the sixth school in just a few days that the club has visited.

Western Sydney Wanderers goal keeper, Jada Whyman was there to guide and coach the students in each activity.

Jada said, “We love getting out to the community and feeling the warmth of country places, and kids from rural and remotes areas. This regional has been fantastic to us.”

“Basic skills, shooting and game time is what we are bringing to these students. It’s all about team work and getting everyone involved, I think they just love mucking around, most of them are trying something new, some already play football so to concentrate on football drills for them it’s very worthwhile.”

St Marys Catholic Primary School Principal, Mrs Kerrie Basha added, “Its so important for children in the country to be exposed to high level elite athletes. They look up to them as role models, they read about them, they see them play, to actually meet them in person gives them another incentive to live life healthy and well.”
