Young swimmer heading for greatness
Francesca Chatukudza is a local young swimmer destined for greatness.
In the recent School Sport Australia Swimming Championship held in Tasmania she placed second and third fastest in Australia for the 200m Medley and the 100m Butterfly, quite an amazing achievement.
“I feel really proud of myself and everybody that helped me,” said Francesca.
Francesca is only 11 years old and she has been swimming for five and a half years now, with her coach Tanya Chapman being there every step of the way.
“I have coached Francesca from the very beginning. She is one of my originals and seeing her develop and grow into the talented young swimmer, and what I mean by talented is that it isn’t a gift, for five and a half years she has trained so hard. Over the years some people have said to me that she is just talented. I say if you come and watch what she does you will see how much work she puts in,” said Tanya.
Francesca is one dedicated and focused individual with her eye on the prize at all times.
Tanya added, “I think people need to watch for this space as at the end of the day there is not stopping this girl. Knowing where she is at now I wonder what she could do in 2 years from now”.
Francesca’s next race will be in three weeks at State representing City of Orange Swim Club at their Club Championships.
