Orange City Life

FROM A READER: Banning plastic bags - Orange could lead the way!

How would it be if Orange was the city to show the state how easy it is to live without the plastic bag?  The way to go is so easy!!!

Adopt the Aldi method  !!!!!!!!

Get all the Orange supermarkets to do this and we could be the first city to be bag free!!!!!

We all push our trolleys to the car anyway, so there is no inconvenience there.  OK – it takes a bit of time to pack your single items into a bag or box in your boot, but not much more than it takes the cashiers to pack them at the checkout.  Ask an Aldi customer ......We just allow a little more time.

And – there would be no more hearing “Sorry, I forgot my bags.”

The supermarkets could give customers a small % discount on their total bill to compensate them for the time it takes to pack at their car.  They can afford this as they would not have to pay and provide us with plastic bags.

ADOPT ALDI’S METHOD AND SAVE OUR CITY FROM EXCESS PLASTIC.

WE COULD BE THE FIRST TO SET AN EXAMPLE.

It’s been this way at Aldi for ages, it certainly doesn’t seem like a big step for it to become universal practice in Orange and I agree, Orange could lead the way on this. It will happen, so why not be first on board.
