Little hope for farmers in latest rainfall outlook

With ninety-nine percent of NSW experiencing drought conditions there is little good news for our struggling farmers in the latest seasonal outlook from the Bureau of Meteorology.
The August to October period is likely to be drier than average across most of NSW, according to the Bureau. Victoria, southeast South Australia and northeast Queensland are also likely to have drier than average condition, while elsewhere across Australia there is a roughly equal chances of above or below average rainfall.
Days and nights are likely to be warmer than average during the next three months for most of Australia.
While the Bureau's climate model indicates that the El Niño–Southern Oscillation (ENSO) and the Indian Ocean Dipole are likely to remain neutral for August–October, five of eight international models show a spring El Niño is likely.
