Older adults in Orange are being given another great health and fitness opportunity in August as part of Sport and Recreation’s Baby Boomers Move and Groove initiative.

The year long initiative promotes a huge range of activities and discount offers that encourage Orange Baby Boomers to come and try new activities around town, without the need to join a club or commit to a full-blown competition.

Integra Health and Fitness is offering Baby Boomers the opportunity to attend any Get Active class in August for only $5. Get Active is a low impact resistance training, falls prevention and mobility class especially designed for older adults.

Baby Boomers Move and Groove coordinator Darrin Yates is encouraging Orange Baby Boomers to try out the Get Active classes whilst the price is so low.

“It is so important that older adults maintain their physical fitness, strength and mobility. Often we can get stuck in a rut with exercise, and changing things up a bit can often be just what we need to increase our motivation levels.

“With such a low cost for participating in the Get Active classes during August, it is a great opportunity to come and try something new,” said Mr Yates.

The Baby Boomers Move and Groove initiative, started in February and has approximately two different physical activity promotions being offered each month till the end of November.
They are open to anyone over 50 who is not already a regular participant in the activities offered by the participating organisations.
