Join Scott Whitaker for an informative and entertaining talk to celebrate the launch of his book Railway Hotels of Australia – Volume Two – New South Wales to be held at Orange City Library at 5.30pm on Tuesday 6th September. In addition to detailing the history of the local Railway Hotels, Scott’s talk will cover the coming of the railway, the social development of regional NSW, researching tips, genealogy, local and state history and publishing.
The coming of the railway was a major event in the history of many towns and cities across New South Wales. This is the story behind every Railway Hotel; and the social, economic and political themes that have shaped society over the last 150 years. The talk will be of great interest to local historians, researchers, genealogists and those interested in the past.
