Orange Christian School is host to the second NSW wide CEN Music Festival. Around 300 students from primary and secondary schools have combined their music talents to form a diverse band.
Musical Director and Festival organiser, Mr Peter Cooper, is thrilled with the response rate. “In 2015 we floated the idea of this festival and the schools came. This year it’s bigger and more encompassing. There are expert musicians and novices and we have formed a mass choir of 300 voices. The opportunities for musical development and mutual encouragement through the Festival is reaping huge benefits for music classes across NSW.”
Orange Christian School Principal Mrs Melissa Brown was all smiles about the festival.
We are so delighted that students from eight Christian Education National CEN schools from as far afield as Wagga, Wollongong and Sydney and from a nearby school at Dubbo have made the trek to celebrate God’s good gift of music. The enthusiasm and comradery that is developing is exceptional. Orange is so pleased to be able to host this event.”
The finale concert in the stunning surrounds of Turner’s Vineyard will be staged on Saturday 13th August from 2pm-4pm is open to the public and entry is free. Families from across NSW will be gathering for this much anticipated event. For further details people can contact Orange Christian School on 6362 7258.
